"Fire Serpent" (Sci Fi Channel)
Nicholas Brendon, Randolph Mantooth, Sandrine Holt and Robert Beltran star in the new "Sci Fi Saturday" movie "Fire Serpent." Once again we have monster night and this time it is a doozy - a serpent that actually lives in the fire. And if it can't be destroyed then mankind will be destroyed.
Brendon plays a firefighter named Jake who sees some strange things in the fire that kills his partner. He tries to block it out of his mind but then he meets a guy named Fallon (Mantooth) who tells him he saw it too. Together they try to convince a female government agent named Chris (Holt) but she sides with a man from Washington (Beltran).
The "fire serpent" continues to rage until it comes down to a final confrontation. If the "serpent" wins then the fire will be totally out of control. It is up to Fallon, Jake and Chris to kill it once and for all time.
This movie is based on a story created by William Shatner. This film has some fun in it as the creature is fun to watch. It is good to see Mantooth on screen once more. He was a big star when he made the TV series "Emergency" but he hasn't been seen much lately.
Brendon got his big break in the "Buffy, the Vampire
Slayer" TV series. He is not your typical leading man but he is enjoyable to watch in this TV movie. Holt and Beltran are two typical stars in this fright night kind of film.
If you like far out, a little bit quirky kind of movies then the "Sci Fi Saturday Night" movies are right up your alley. They are strictly popcorn films that can't be taken seriously. You just relax, enjoy then and go with the flow.
"Fire Serpent" premieres on "Sci Fi Saturday Night" on February 24 at 9PM. Gather the kids together and have a great old time watching and laughing at the crazy goings on. |
