"How To Look Good Naked" (Lifetime)

Lifetime has a new "makeover" series but this one is somewhat different. Instead of involving surgery or diets this one takes a woman's body as is and makes it look better. Yes "How To Look Good Naked" is a show that is all about having confidence in yourself no matter how you look. It stresses emphasizing the positive and diminishing the negative.

Carson Kressley of "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy" is the host of this show and how much you enjoy the programs might depend on how much tolerance you have for Carson's extreme personality. A little goes a long way and there is a lot of him here. However he is so genuine when he works with these self-doubting women that you will forgive him some of his flamboyance. 

Each week Carson works with a woman who feels unattractive. Most of them hate their bodies and don't see anything right with themselves. Carson takes a fresh eye to them by emphasizing the plusses rather than the minuses. He also has a trick or two up his sleeve whereby the women hear some positive comments that really boost their egos.

At the end of the half-hour show the women do get a makeup and hair makeover and in every case they look fantastic. That is when Carson surprises them with the fact they are going to do a naked photo shoot (tastefully done of course).

The show is a good morale booster for women who think they are too fat, too thin and/or too unattractive. Carson is a master at building them up and getting them a new attitude. Each woman comes out better than she was at the start of the show and this is without dieting!

The only negative is there seems to be a real sameness about the shows. They are going to have to mix it up somehow in order to keep people wanting to return week after week. I am sure Carson can think of something to do in that respect.
