"Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead" (Lifetime)
"Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead" was one of the biggest hits on the Lifetime Channel last year. This weekly look at the English lady who can communicate with the dead struck a chord with viewers and won over even some of her most skeptical critics. Now she is back for a second season and her popularity is expected to grow even more.
Each episode of this show focuses on Lisa meeting with an individual and taking some personal object from them that belonged to the deceased. As she holds the item she begins to get messages from the beyond and she passes this information on to the person with her. These messages can result in Lisa feeling some sort of pain the deceased felt or having some of the emotions that were there at the end.
One of the main attractions to this show is the warmth and humanity of Lisa. She is an emotional and touchy type of psychic. Most of the people coming to see her get a hug before they leave and she is always tender and compassionate with her readings. Her big eyes sometimes overflow with her feelings and she asks before she starts if the person there wants to hear all that she hears. In that sense she comes off as very protective.
In some instances Lisa reveals details about a violent death or a mysterious one. At other times she relays messages of peace and love from the other side. Her actions and her way of communicating strike the viewers as real. There doesn't seem to be any pretense or artifice.
Whether you believe in Lisa's abilities or not, her show is fascinating to watch. The producers make it enjoyable, entertaining, and for some enlightening. They mainly do this by letting Lisa be herself and by letting whatever happens happen.
Lisa Williams and her psychic abilities are back for another year. Tune in to the Lifetime Channel on Friday nights at 9:00 and be amazed and astounded by what this lady can do. It is truly staggering. |
