"Lost Holiday: The Jim and Suzanne Shemwell Story" (Lifetime)

TV favorites Jami Gertz and Dylan Walsh co-star in the new holiday movie on Lifetime, "Lost Holiday: The Jim and Suzanne Shemwell Story." This original movie is based on a true story and has some tears and cheers involved in its holiday setting.

At the start of the movie Jim and Suzanne Shemwell (Walsh and Gertz) are separated. However they do agree to stay under the same roof during the Christmas holidays for the sake of their two daughters. They even make a concerted effort not to bicker and fight.

In the spirit of their détente this Idaho couple decide to go snowmobiling in the mountains. This leads to them getting lost, and then the weather takes a turn for the worse. While people hunt for them, Jim and Suzanne must work together as a team in order to survive.

Walsh and Gertz make a believable couple in this movie. They are believable when they are fighting and believable when they are not. Walsh is known for his TV series "nip/tuck" while Gertz made an impression in the hit series "Still Standing."

The movie is basically a "will they or won't they get out alive" type of film and that is just fine. It is played out with suspense and also some lessons in what is important in life. There are even some family relations lessons thrown in for good measure.

For a pleasant way to spend a holiday evening you could do worse than "Lost Holiday: The Jim and Suzanne Shemwell Story." The story is involving and the actors are fun to watch. That is a winning combination in any season.

"Lost Holiday: The Jim and Suzanne Shemwell Story" premieres on Lifetime on Saturday, December 8 at 9PM.
