"Painkiller Jane" (Sci Fi Channel)

Kristanna Loken stars as Jane Vasco in the new Sci Fi series "Painkiller Jane." The "Terminator 3" star is perfectly cast as the deadly agent who has a surprising tolerance for pain. With her glacial beauty and her athletic body Loken can be totally believable in the acting and physical requirements of the role.

In the series Jane is a DEA Agent. While on the job she meets a man named Andre McBride (Rob Stewart). He recruits her to join his special team. It is a very clandestine operation but Jane will prove to be a very valuable asset. She is bright and clever and this impresses McBride a lot. So much so that he uses some real coercion to get her on the team.

In her first operation Jane goes is assigned to go undercover at a high rise building. In the course of her activity she ends up getting tossed from the forty-sixth story. Everyone thinks she is dead but a few hours later she is back at the operations center. It seems Jane has a high, high, high tolerance for pain and very unusual recuperative powers.

This is the key premise of the show and it is a good one, especially with Loken in the title role. It looks like the Sci Fi Channel; has another hit on its hands.

"Painkiller Jane" premieres April 13 at 10PM and helps round out the schedule of sci fi adventure programming which includes "Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate Atlantis." It makes for a Friday night that is full of delights.
