"Snowglobe" (ABC Family)

Things really get a little bit crazy over at ABC Family when they present the original movie "Snowglobe." Christina Milian heads a cast that includes Lorraine Bracco and Matt Keesler. They tell a wacky story about a girl who visits a town happily trapped in a snowglobe. Sound bizarre, well it is.

Angela (Milian) is a girl who loves Christmas. Her problem is her family doesn't celebrate it like she wants. She dreams of a white Christmas with traditional food and activities. Her family, especially her mother (Bracco), leans more towards the lasagna type of holiday fare. Angela gets more and more irritated with her family's idea of Christmas and with their constant effort to find her a boyfriend.

One day she gets a gift in the mail. It is a snowglobe and when she shakes it she ends up inside the globe. There is a town in there where the people celebrate Christmas in the traditional way. The problem is they do it over and over and over.

In the village she meets and befriends Douglas (Keesler), a cheery guy who gives her a gift of mittens. Each time Angela goes back to the village she is greeted by the affable Douglas. Eventually he even follows her back into reality. That's when things get really complicated.

The movie is really sweet and has a certain loony charm. Milian is beautiful and loveable while Bracco is all mother earth. Keesler is great at playing Douglas, who looks and acts like a big Ken doll.

Since we are all in the Christmas spirit this kind of movie is more enjoyable than ever. Christina Milian deserves more of a career than she has had and this movie does showcase her looks and talent. For that fact alone it can be appreciated.

For a special holiday treat tune into "Snowglobe" on the ABC Family Channel. It premieres Saturday, December 15 at 8PM.
