"Desperate Housewives” (ABC)

On May 18 there will be a two hour finale to wrap up season 4 of “Desperate Housewives.” With so many dangerous plot events brewing it looks like there could be cliff-hangers on top of cliff-hangers. All of the women of Wisteria Lane, including new face Katherine (Dana Delaney), are facing serious circumstances.

As of last week we were all involved in the situation of Lynette (Felicity Huffman) trying to convince everyone of the ugly intentions of her “bad seed” step-daughter. Her husband Tom (Doug Savant) is feeling protective of his daughter but Lynette knows just how scheming she can be. In one jolting scene Lynette actually slapped the little girl. Can child abuse charges be far away?

Susan (Teri Hatcher) has had her baby boy but will this happiness last. Mike (James Denton) is a recovering drug addict, and his meddling mother has come to visit. Susan always has to have some drama in her life and it looks like motherhood may provide it.

Gabby and Carlos (Eva Longoria Parker and Ricardo Antonio Chavira) have taken in a border named Ellie (Justine Bateman). They like her but are disappointed to learn she is dealing drugs out of their home. They report her to the police but the police want her to stay where she is until they can find out who her supplier is. Gabby and Carlos are now forced to act nice with the tenant and feed the police information.

Bree (Marcia Cross) has split from Orson (Kyle MacLachlan). He turned to Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) for comfort much to Bree’s chagrin. Bree threatened Edie who in turn tried to blackmail Bree about her “baby’s” parentage. All of the housewives backed Bree and now Edie is the pariah of the street.

Finally Katherine told her ex-husband (Gary Cole) he is not the father of their daughter. He did a DNA test and found out she was telling the truth. Now he plans to get pay back against Katherine for her lies.

With all of this happening will two hours be enough time? And will Edie depart the show as has been rumored? Never count Nicollette out. She has a way of landing o her feet – think “Knot’s Landing.”

To find out what happens and how, tune in to ABC on Sunday May 18 at 9PM for the two-hour special. It looks like the best season since the first will go out with a bang.
