“Eureka” (Sci Fi Channel)
“Eureka” is back on the Sci Fi Channel for its third season. This quirky comedy/drama returns with its cast of misfits and geniuses all aboard. They all work in the town of Eureka where scientists toil and create some out of this world products. Trying to keep it all safe and sane is the local sheriff and he is a man with a million problems on his hands.
Sheriff Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) is the most ordinary of the townspeople, and even he has gotten used to seeing crazy creatures and machines swooping around the town. In the premiere episode the swooping machine is a drone named “Martha.” This drone was created for good and noble purposes but then it/she gets a mind of her own.
Martha ends up terrorizing the town and putting the staff and work of Global Dynamics at risk. Could this be the end of it all? Could this be the start of World War III? Well tune in and find out.
Ferguson is comfortably settled into his role of Jack, and the ever attractive Sallie Richardson-Whitfield is completely confident as his love interest. These two are perfectly cast for their roles and are perfect for each other but the writers seem determined to keep them apart.
Appearing in the first episode of this new season is guest star Frances Fisher as an efficiency expert known as “the Fixer.” Fisher is so natural in her part that she seems to be totally at home in the series. Here’s hoping she sticks around for an episode or two.
“Eureka” might be a little too quirky for some people’s taste but it has developed a following. So tune in and watch the craziness. It might just grow on you.
“Eureka” premieres July 29 at 9PM on the Sci Fi Channel. |
