“How To Look Good Naked” (Lifetime)

Carson Kressley is the host of Lifetime’s feel good program “How To Look Good Naked.” This is the second season for the show which helps women feel better about themselves both externally and internally. Kressley uses his flamboyant personality and fashion sense to convince women they are sexy and beautiful even if they are not the supposed perfect weight and shape.

In the premiere episode Kressley takes on Kelly Park, a woman who may be a plus size but has personality to boot. Kressley helps her see the beauty in being bigger and gives her a makeover of sorts that gives her flair and flounce. It takes a while to convince Kelly she still has that special something she had before having a baby and adding a few pounds.

The goal Kressley sets is to have Park become so convinced of her beauty and so full of self confidence that she can pose naked; well actually naked but covered. If he can get her to that level then he will know he has done his job.

A little Kressley goes a long way but in this show he is so sincere and so helpful to these women that you can put up with some of his more irritating traits. He is always there to boost their egos and to lend a shoulder on which to cry. His empathy comes across as true and strong.

“How To Look Good Naked” is not a true makeover show as there are no surgeries, no starvation diets, no physical changes of any kind. This is a show about attitude and confidence and gets its point across in a hundred valid ways. Each week a person looks in the mirror and sees someone of value and that is a major accomplishment.

So tune in and watch Carson Kressley in “How To Look Good Naked.” It is a “feel good” hour that comes across as valid and worthwhile.

“How To Look Good Naked” premieres on Lifetime, July 22 at 10PM. New episodes follow each week at this time.
