“Army Wives” (Lifetime)

“Army Wives” concludes its current season on October 11 at 10PM on Lifetime. This season has seen a lot of drama and a lot of excitement on the show. When the final episode arrives there are a lot of loose strands hanging. There are cliffhangers on top of cliffhangers.

Claudia Joy (Kim Delaney) and Michael (Brian McNamara) are learning to cope with her diabetes. They are also enjoying the return to normalcy of their daughter Emmalin (Katelyn Pippy). But they now have the threat of base closure hanging over them, and for Claudia Joy the last episode contains the return of an old enemy.

Pamela (Brigid Brannagh) is trying to cope with her husband Chase’s (Jeremy Davidson) lies about what he is doing and where. She knows that he is devoted to his Delta Force buddies but she doesn’t want that to come before her family. Things come to a head in the final episode.

Roxy (Sally Pressman) and Trevor (Drew Fuller) have decided to have a baby but then something unexpected happens to cause their meager funds to be stretched even tighter. Maybe the time isn’t just right for them to be adding to their debts.

Roland (Sterling K Brown) and Joan (Wendy Davis) are dealing with Joan’s deployment. Roland has to get used to being a single parent. This is hard enough to do but he also suddenly has problems at work. Then Joan has to face problems and complications on her assignment.

The most complex problems belong to Denise (Catherine Bell) and Frank (Terry Serpico). Happily reunited after Denise’s foolish affair, they think things are going good until their son Jeremy’s best friend is killed in combat. Jeremy (Richard Bryant) comes home on leave but he can’t get over the death. Denise and Frank reach out to him but things go from bad to worse.

The final episode leaves us wanting more and that is what any good TV show should do. “Army Wives” is compulsory TV viewing for many reasons. It has strong scripts, great acting, and stories that inspire us with patriotism and other emotions.

So get ready for the next season by relishing the richness of this final episode. It is certainly worth watching.

“Army Wives” airs on Lifetime, Sunday nights at 10.
