“Flash Forward” (ABC)
One of the true hits of this new TV season is “Flash Forward.” Many are calling it the successor to “Lost” in that it presents a mystery that can keep on giving for months to come. Joseph Fiennes and Sonya Walger portray the main couple in this show and they seem to have the right chemistry and the right acting skills to keep them interesting over the run of the show.
Fiennes plays FBI Agent Mark Benford. He is married to Dr. Olivia Benford and they have a daughter. One day Mark and the rest of the world black out for a period of one hundred and thirty seven seconds. During this time they get a flash forward of events that will occur in six months. But then there are some like Mark’s partner Demetri (John Cho) who doesn’t see anything. Demetri assumes this means he will die before the six month period occurs.
The main questions are why did this happen? Will it happen again? And can this future be changed? That is for us, the audience, to find out as the show takes its course. Each week just enough new information is given to keep us hooked.
We also have the arrival of Dominic Monaghan and Genevieve Cortese to anticipate. Monaghan will play a man named Simon who might hold a key to the “incident” while Cortese will play a girl named Tracy who is thought to already be dead. Monaghan is best known to viewers of “Lost” as Charlie, the ill fated all around sweet guy. Cortese starred for several years on the ABC Family show “Wildfire.”
The first few episodes of “Flash Forward” have already aired and I am hooked. Heck I was hooked from the very first minutes of the first episode. You can tune in and catch up and join the fun. You really don’t want to miss out on this show. It airs on Thursday nights, the best night of TV viewing.
ABC has “Flash Forward” at 8PM followed by “Grey’s Anatomy” at 9 and “Private Practice” at 10. That’s a lot of drama for one night but it kicks off with just the right touch with “Flash Forward.” Don’t miss it! |
