“Leverage” (TNT)
At the end of last season the “Leverage” group had disbanded and every one had gone his/her separate way. But now it is time for “Leverage” to begin again on TNT so the gang has to get back together – and they do.
Timothy Hutton is back as Nate Ford, the leader of the gang. Nate is reluctant to start pulling off jobs but he gets drawn back in. It doesn’t help that he is sober for the first time in a long time and the working conditions of pulling off cons, scams and jobs even with a noble purpose doesn’t make for calm nerves.
Christian Kane returns as Eliot. He is the muscle of the gang. Kane has something about him that holds the eyes and he still could be the breakout star of the show. Gina Bellman is Sophie, the grifter, and she has grown on me since last season. There is something going on between her character and Hutton’s and that adds a little spice to the show.
Beth Riesgraf plays Parker, the thief of the group. Well they all do a little thievery now and then but she is the most proficient in this field. Riesgraf brings an energy to the show that helps pep up things and that is a real plus. Aldis Hodge plays Alec, the hacker. His character and Riegraf’s have something smoking between them and it may bloom this season.
All five of these characters and actors play into the overall enjoyment of the show. A show such as this needs chemistry between its players and this show has it. It didn’t start out that way but it has evolved.
Mark your calendars to watch the premiere of “Leverage” to be followed by the debut of “Dark Blue.” “Leverage” starts it all off Wednesday, July 15 at 9PM. |
