“Stargate Atlantis: The Final Episode” (Sci Fi)
On Friday, January 9 at 9PM the long running series “Stargate Atlantis” will air its final episode. The show has been on the Sci Fi Channel for five seasons. During this time it has picked up some fanatical fans and loyal enthusiasts.
In this final episode Lt Col John Sheppard (John Flannigan) must embark on one last daring adventure. He must find a way to stop “the Wraith,” a spaceship intent on conquering Earth. In order to stop this almost invincible ship he might be called upon to fly a smaller ship into the belly of the bigger one and set off a nuclear device. This of course would be certain suicide for Sheppard.
Working to help him is Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo) the Commander of Atlantis. He is aided by Teyla Emmagan (Rachel Luttrell), Ronon Dex (Jason Momoa) and Rodney McKay (David Hewlett). These three have been allies of Sheppard’s for some time now and when this group acts as one it is almost unstoppable.
The final episode includes battles, humor and heroics. This is what is expected of “Stargate Atlantis” and it is what is delivered. No fan will be disappointed. It is a glorious way to end the series’ run.
The cast of this show works together with precision and excitement. No one is just walking through his/her role. They all seem to want to go out on a high note and they do. Maybe there will be a “Stargate Atlantis” movie in the future. With sci fi stories you never know. There are definitely going to be a couple of “SG-1” movies so what is to stop “Stargate Atlantis” from getting the same treatment.
But for now this last episode is playing and all fans of this show will want to tune in. It airs Friday night, January 9 at 9PM on the Sci Fi Channel. Tune in and say good-bye to a very popular series. |
