“Las Vegas Jailhouse” (TruTv)
Just when you though there was a reality TV series about everything under the sun we get a new one. This time out we get to go inside a jailhouse to see how criminals are treated when they are brought in for incarceration. Wow, I always hoped we would get one like this.
TruTV introduces us to “Las Vegas Jailhouse” this month and with this reality series we get to see the police officers and the criminals who inhabit the jail. It has been said what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas but in this case it is aired in front of the entire world. So much for privacy, but in truth the people shown do not look like they value privacy very much.
In the premiere episode the audience gets to see a guy who wants to steal a dog. Well actually he wants his girlfriend to steal a dog. They are both brought in and booked. Then we have a guy who is brought in for some reason I forget. But when he is to change into a jail uniform he reveals he is wearing a pink chemise. The officers get a kick out of that.
Then there are the women who are charged with solicitation. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes. One says she is a preacher’s kid while another is six months pregnant. The officer seeing to them thinks maybe the pregnant one will straighten her life out – for the baby. Maybe, maybe not!
None of this is particularly interesting. There are no gripping stories and no drama of any sort. It is all just a slice of life in Vegas. Maybe the criminals and the cops will get more interesting in days to come but as for those in the first episode it was just blah!
