“Law and Order: Criminal Intent” (USA Network)

“Law and Order: Criminal Intent” moved from NBC to the USA Network and managed to keep its popularity going. This is its ninth season overall and it is gearing up for a sixteen new episode run. The season kicks off with a two-parter and the action and intensity are high. Vincent D’Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe and Eric Bogosian lead the cast.

Without giving anything away to those of you who are not yet in the know, there are going to be some major changes on the show this year. Jeff Goldblum and Saffron Burrows will join the cast to provide for even more characters for the audience to follow. D’Onofrio and Erbe have always been a little difficult for audiences to relate to in any popular way, but Bogosian has been the glue that makes it all stick.

The kick off show concerns arms dealers and the killing of supposed pirates. It begins with a quick action moment and then builds as the evil perpetrators are uncovered. It only takes a few moments for the audience to be drawn into the story and they are then on the edge of their sofas for the duration of the two hours.

As stated there are twists and turns galore in this show and how it affects the audience remains to be seen. “Law and Order” has always been an evolutional show in a variety of ways so these new directions were to be expected.

This franchise makes the most of its casts and always has stories that are up to date. You can even say they are torn from the headlines. Timely and topical has served “L&O” well and it should continue to do so for many years to come.

To get in on the new season of “Law and Order: Criminal Intent” tune in to the USA Network on March 30 at 10PM.
