“SGU” (Syfy Channel)
“SGU” is back on the Syfy Channel for the conclusion of its first season. This popular series has all the excitement and suspense of the original series and is finding a fan base all its own. In this show a ship is hurtling through space
while its crew is trying to find a way back home. Here are still “stargates” which give the crew the ability to move through areas but nothing yet has helped them get back to where they began.
Robert Carlyle and Louis Ferreira head up this cast as the heads of two opposing camps. Trapped on one space ship they vie for control of all those on board. Only one can succeed but the power torch keeps passing between them.
Also in the cast are Ming Na and Lou Diamond Phillips. They add their name power to add to the legitimacy of the series and their acting talents enhance every scene in which they appear. Both of these veterans know their way around a script and they give a fresh reading to some old action lines along the way.
Science fiction is still a big draw for audiences and this show is one of the better ones being offered today. The storyline, the special effects and the better than average actors make this a show to see each and every week. It may not star Richard Dean Anderson but it is still a good show.
So mark your calendars for the night that “SGU” returns for the continuation of its first season. It will be on the Syfy Channel at 9PM, Friday, April 2. If you are a sci-fi fan then this is one show you have to watch. |
