"Caught In the Act" (Lifetime)

Lauren Holly of "Dumb and Dumber" fame stars in a new Lifetime original movie, "Caught In the Act." The film, which is loosely based on the real life exploits of Tennessee Private Investigator Janice Holt, is full of "good ole girl" action and adventure.

Jody Colter (Holly) is a stay at home mom of two kids. She and her husband Buck (Max Martino) have been married for ten years and now she fears he is getting restless. When she does discover he is having an affair she goes to a lawyer (Brian McNamara) who advises her to get proof of her husband's infidelity.

As she begins to collect information about her husband, she also starts to help another wife who is in her same boat. Alice (Madeleine Potter) isn't quite as gung-ho as Jody but she does accept her help.

The movie is a good showcase for Holly's looks and talent. She has the Tennessee twang down pat and she looks great in those country girl chic outfits. Martini is appropriately scummy as her two timing husband, while Brian McNamara is slick as her attorney.

The movie has a great country music soundtrack which fits in with the locale and the action. Jody is a country girl inside and out whose theme song is "Get Rid of Your Man" rather than "Stand By Your Man."

"Caught In the Act" is a fairly enjoyable movie. It isn't as deep and emotional as Lifetime movies usually are. This one just seems to be a way for women to have fun while watching a bubba get his just desserts.

"Caught In the Act" premieres on Lifetime May 10 at 8PM.
