"Chucky, One More Time"
It seems like America just can't get enough of "Chucky," the demon doll who has scared us all through countless movies. Now there is "Seed of Chucky" which is available on DVD in an unrated version.
Jennifer Tilly and Redman are the real actors in the film while the dolls of Chucky and Tiffany have a hell-raising good time. Brad Dourif and Tilly provide the voices of the dolls.
There is more mayhem and more dirty tricks and dirty jokes in the unrated version. Chucky is always up to no good and he proves it in this film again and again.
If you are a "Scooby Doo" fan, and a lot of you out there are; then you will want to pick up "What's New, Scooby Doo? Vol 5: Sports Spooktacular." This DVD has four episodes of the Scooby Doo series and each episode highlights a different sport.
In the first, and best, episode the sport is baseball; in the second it is time for some off-road racing; the third centers around wrestling; and the final one is a hockey mystery. Each features the entire gang of Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Freddy; and each has a new "monster" to scare the guys while they are solving a mystery.
The Scooby Doo franchise is one of the most popular in animated television and it is not just for the kids. Adults enjoy these stories and scares too. So pick up Scooby and the gang's latest adventures.
Nicolas Cage is an action hero again in the film "Gone in Sixty Seconds." In this movie he co-stars with Angelina Jolie and Robert Duvall, and that my friend is some pretty high falutin company.
The movie is all about the action sequences, and with Jerry Bruckheimer producing you know it is going to be exciting. In the new "Director's Cut DVD" you get a whole lot of extras for your buck and they enhance the enjoyment of the movie.
One of the "extras" I liked best was a montage of the action sequences of the movie. It is one gasp after another and one thrill more intense than the first. And it all has a throbbing soundtrack in the background.
So far the action and the fun get the "Gone in 60 Seconds Director's Cut DVD."
One of my all time favorite movies is "Coyote Ugly." Maybe it is the spark Piper Perabo brings to her role as the bartender in training, or maybe it is just all the women dancing on the bar. Whatever it is, the movie works for me.
Now there is "Coyote Ugly: Unrated Special Edition DVD" which features some more adult themed material, a LeAnn Rimes video, commentary from Jerry Bruckheimer and a whole lot more.
If you are a fan of the movie, like I am, this is have to have material. Get it and watch it tonight!
Since this is the month of Fathers Day, you might want to get "Home Improvement: the Second Season" which features funnyman Tim Allen as everyone's favorite father.
This TV series was Allen at his best, and Patricia Richardson was just as good as he. And you can't forget the sons - Taran Noah Smith, Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Zachery Ty Bryan. It was the perfect cast for a very funny show.
The second season had some of the series best episodes so watch them and howl. It is "Home Improvement" with everybody's favorite father figure Tim Taylor.
Speaking of Fathers, Steve Martin made us all tear up when he marched his daughter, Kimberly Williams, down the aisle in "Father of the Bride." Can you believe it has been fifteen years since we watched that saga on the screen for the first time? Well it has been.
There is now a "Father of the Bride: 15th Anniversary Special Edition" which is worth getting just for the joint interview between Steve Martin and Martin Short. It's hilarious. Plus you get commentary from Director Charles Shyer.
The movie is a marvel and all these extras make it that much more extra special. That is "Father of the Bride: 15th Anniversary Edition." |
