"Nicole's New Movie On DVD Is Open To Interpretation"
Nicole Kidman plays a UN interpreter who overhears an assassination plot in her new film on DVD, "The Interpreter." Once she makes public that she has heard the threats then her life becomes threatened and that brings in an FBI agent (Sean Penn).
Kidman and Penn are pretty well matched in the acting talent arena, but watch closely when they are required to stand side by side. Tall girl Nicole towers over small guy Sean. Most of the time they are shown sitting down, and in the final scene he is perched on a fence while she stands on the ground.
The movie itself is fairly suspenseful but in some ways illogical. Still it makes for a fair amount of entertainment, especially for a rental.
Hilary Duff's new movie/DVD "The Perfect Man" has about the same amount of entertainment value. She and Heather Locklear co-star in a movie about a woman who makes all the wrong choices in men. Plus each time she chooses badly she uproots her two daughters and moves to a new town.
Her oldest daughter (Duff) decided she can find mom "the perfect man." This turns out to be Chris Noth, but can Hilary get her mom and this guy together? Well what do you think?
Hilary and Heather are fine in the movie with Noth being a sexy target for them. He may not be the perfect man but he is a pretty good catch in anyone's book.
Joan Allen is one of Hollywood's better actresses. Usually the roles she plays are fairly proper and rigid. But in "Yes" she breaks out in a part that is romantic and sensuous. In other words this is her "Fatal Attraction" film.
Allen plays a woman who does not feel appreciated by her husband (Sam Neill). She gets involved with another man (Simon Abkarian) and follows her lover all over the world. Her passion for him knows no boundaries and she says "yes" to his every whim.
This is a Joan Allen like you have never seen. Make sure you say "yes" to this DVD and it will provide you with good entertainment.
James "Titanic" Cameron explores a strange new world in the DVD "Aliens of the Deep." Using the latest in undersea equipment, Cameron goes to new depths of the ocean and explores a world with life forms you have not seen.
The relationship between these types of creatures and those you might expect on alien planets accounts for the title of the DVD. This is a unique film and one those with a scientific bent will surely enjoy.
James Cameron has not made a commercial film since "Titanic" but this type of semi-documentary is the kind of movie closest to his heart.
Your kids are feeling lucky because a new collection of episodes from the "Scooby Doo" series is now available on DVD. This collection is called "What's New Scooby Doo? Volume 7: Ghosts On the Go." On it are four episodes from the popular TV series.
All of the gang returns: Velma, Daphne, Shaggy, Scooby and Freddie. They have one adventure after another and all the good mysteries and hilarious comedy are there too. So get "Ghosts On the Go" and have yourself a Scooby Doo super time.
As the holidays approach it is time for "special" DVD's that will bring the season of Thanksgiving and Christmas to life. Such a DVD is Disney's "The 3 Wise Men." This animated film tells the story of the 3 magi who traveled to Bethlehem to present gifts to the Baby Jesus.
In this movie you get a backstory created about the perils they faced on the trip and how they made new friends along the way. The voices of the characters are provided by Martin Sheen and his son Emilio Estevez as well as Spanish stars Marcos Wit, Jaci Velasquez and Kuno Becker.
This is a very special DVD and it will bring the wonders of the Christmas season home to your children in a dramatic and refreshing way. Its Disney's "The Three Wise Men."
Also for Christmas is a collection of episodes from Disney's best TV shows. "Lizzie McGuire," "That's So Raven," "Even Stevens," "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," and "Kim Possible" are all included and each episode has a Christmas theme.
This is a perfect holiday treat for your kids and it will get them into the holiday spirit. All of these Disney shows and characters are immensely popular so get on the bandwagon and share the spirit. You will also get a bonus music video in the package, Wow!
More music is available on the DVD "Disney Princess: A Christmas Of Enchantment." This DVD has lots of musical appeal and the entertainment value of some of Disney's best characters. Included are Ariel, Princess Aurora, Belle, Princess Jasmine, Cinderella and others.
There are new stories, new songs, and new treats for the "princesses" you know. Make sure you get this DVD for them and soon. |
