"Horror Flicks For Halloween"
As October winds its way towards Halloween the horror flicks stack up at your local DVD store. One that sounds like it might be perfect to get you in the Halloween mood is "Stay Alive!" Video games are certainly hot these days so a movie about a deadly video game should be a killer film, right? Wrong! This movie is deadly all right - deadly dull. If you are unfortunate enough to pick this one up at the video store, be afraid - be very afraid. It will bore you to death. So stay alive, and stay away from this movie.
The plot concerns a video game that is received by a young man (Milo Ventimiglia). While he is playing it he discovers two of his friends are dead. Then he dies in the same way as his on screen persona. It seems the video can actually kill the players.
Now that plot actually sounds interesting but the way the movie comes together is not. It never makes any sense and the cast just keeps getting killed off - one at a time. By the way Frankie Muniz is in this movie and he is awful. He had better head back to TV and be quick about it.
Much better is the remastered and still scary "A Nightmare On Elm Street." This DVD has the classic film that will scare the willies out of you, plus it has a slew of extras to make it even better viewing. There is an alternate ending plus interviews with John Saxon, Heather Langenkamp and director Wes Craven.
So get one of the best horror movies ever made - "A Nightmare On Elm Street." It still delivers with the thrills, chills and terror. Freddy Kruger is waiting; give him a chance to make your Halloween something special.
Audrey Tatou was in "Amelie" and "The Da Vinci Code." Now she is on DVD in the comedy "Russian Dolls." The film is a story of a writer (Romain Duris) who is looking for love but doesn't really know how to find it or even appreciate it when it is close by. He thinks fate is keeping him form being happy but in reality it is his own fault.
Kelly Reilly and Cecille De France also star in this interesting film. It is in French with English subtitles.
What happens when the Power Rangers lose their power? That is the question raised in the new Power Rangers full length film "Power Rangers: Mystic Force: Dark Wish - The Blockbuster." In this DVD a mysterious enemy drains all color and power from our heroes.
Kids love these mighty heroes and will sit and watch them for hours on end. So get this great Power Rangers story, plus extras, for your kids today.
Recently I have been watching Erika Eleniak on "Celebrity Fit Club." Now I find she has a new DVD out and that draws my interest to it. She and Jeff Fahey co-star in "Absolute Zero," a movie about the possibility of a second Ice Age.
This is sci fi excitement of the best kind. The movie is hokey and cheesy in parts but it is still fun, and Eleniak looks mighty "fit." So watch as she and Jeff Fahey save the world in "Absolute Zero." Miami has never been so cold.
Finally there is a new Scooby-Doo adventure titled "Scooby-Doo! Pirates Ahoy!" This time out Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Crew are headed to the Bermuda Triangle. There are sure to be thrills there for this group and the fans they carry with them. Skeleton Ghost Pirates (just like in "Pirates of the Caribbean") stalk there every move.
Kids love Scooby-Doo and all the gang. Take this DVD home for their enjoyment tonight. |
