"Kate and Cameron, Jack and Jude"

Every once in a while a movie comes along hat has the perfect casting. Such a movie is "The Holiday." It pairs the beautiful Kate Winslet with the cherubic Jack Black, and then pairs the dazzling Cameron Diaz with the loveable Jude Law. Four big stars who possess enough charisma to light up ten movies, and in this one you get them all together. What a treat! And what a great DVD present!

Director Nancy Meyers gave us "Something's Gotta Give" a few year's back as well as "What Women Want." She continues her string of hits with "The Holiday," a warm-hearted look at heartbreak and recovery. In the film two women have similar problems. Iris (Winslet) and Amanda (Diaz) are both highly successful women but they can't find a good man. Both are involved with losers. Iris is in love with Jasper (Rufus Sewell) who professes to love her but then gets engaged to someone else. Amanda has been in a long-term relationship with Ethan (Edward Burns) but discovers he has been unfaithful to her. So both women are in a sorry state.

They happen upon each other over the Internet and decide to swap homes for two weeks over the Christmas holidays. Iris moves into Amanda's LA mansion while Amanda beds down in Iris' cottage in England. While in their "new" homes both women meet new men. Amanda opens the door to Graham (Law), who she learns is Iris' brother; Iris gets visited by Miles (Black) who works with Ethan. These new relationships open up the possibility of a happily ever after ending.

The movie is all about relationships but it is never heavy-handed or dreary. This is after all a romantic comedy, with the emphasis on comedy. So get ready to have a wonderful vacation with four solid stars. Kate, Cameron, Jack and Jude are waiting to entertain you. Let the fun begin.

More fun is in store when you watch "Walt Disney's Peter Pan, the Platinum Edition." This is the new improved "Peter Pan" with some of its artwork re-mastered and all of it looking good. Plus you have the same tale from Sir James Barrie which is a classic in and of itself. Add to that the musical numbers and you have enough entertainment for two full discs and more.

There are many bonuses on the discs including a commentary by Walt Disney as to why he made "Peter Pan" and a look at the new "Tinkerbell" movie. And the list goes on and on. But the real reason to get this DVD is for the joy of seeing the movie one more time.

Did you know the man who is the Executive Producer of "Without A Trace" is also the man who produced the first two "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies? Yes, Jerry Bruckheimer played both roles and did them both the Bruckheimer way. He made his imprint on "Without A Trace" in much the way he has stamped some of Hollywood's biggest films.

"Without A Trace: The Complete Second Season" is now out on DVD and it is your chance to watch the second season from start to finish with no commercial interruptions. Plus you can rewatch some of the year's highlights such as the appearances of Martin Landau as Jack's (Anthony LaPaglia) father.

No show deals with the issue of "missing persons" like this one does, and does it with such skill and integrity. This is why it is one of television's top series. So watch "Without A Trace: The Complete Second Season" and see what solid TV entertainment is all about.

Did you ever watch the original movie "Decoys" which was a direct to DVD feature? If you did then you are in for another treat because "Decoys: The Second Seduction" is here. Once again Kim Poirier and Corey Sevier star as Dr. Constance Barnes and Luke. They are joined by Dina Meyer and Tobin Bell in this second story about aliens who disguise themselves as delectable college coeds.

This is a movie that is fun and interesting, plus it has a few chills both literally and figuratively. Just watching these college girl aliens work their terror on an unsuspecting student body is amazing. So get it today. The title is "Decoys: The Second Seduction."
