"A New Christmas Classic"

Last year when "Elf" was released into motion picture theaters it became an overnight sensation. Now that it has been released on video it has become an instantaneous Christmas classic. Will Ferrell's story about a man who thinks he is an overgrown elf has all the hallmarks of a perennial hit.

Plus its release on DVD has lots of extras included. These are such special treats as a behind the scenes looks at the shooting of "Elf"; commentary by Ferrell as well as Director Jon Favreau; special musical numbers; games; deleted scenes and alternate scenes; and many more Christmas and "Elf" related stories.

But the main thing is the movie that is as sweet and heart warming as any film could be. Ferrell shines in the title role and the supporting cast which includes James Caan, Bob Newhart, Mary Steenburgen and Ed Asner is a perfect array of actors.

"Elf" is a holiday treat that should not be missed. Get your special 2 disc DVD collection today!

Many of you remember the good natured kangaroo star of the 2003 film "Kangaroo Jack." Now there is an animated sequel out on video (the DVD has some extras for you). It is titled "Kangaroo Jack: G'Day, USA!" The main characters of Louis, Charlie and Jessie are back in this story and of course there is Jack.

The story takes our heroes and their marsupial friend from Australia to Las Vegas and back. And there are lots of fun happenings and thrills along the way. This is an animated adventure that kids and adults can enjoy.

A WRINKLE IN TIME is an outstanding children's book. Now it has been made into a solidly entertaining movie. This story about children in pursuit of their father's abductors makes for an excellent adventure film. It is a far fetched fantasy tale with travels to other planets included in the plot.

The stars of the movie include Katie Stuart, Gregory Smith and Kate Nelligan. They make this an adventure movie that you will want to see over and over again.

You may not recognize the name "Yu-Gi-Oh' but odds are your kids will. This is a movie based on a trading card game/comic book out of Japan. It is wildly popular there and is gaining a fan base in this country. It is an animated adventure series that kids love. So make sure you check with your kids and find out if they are "Yu-Gi-Oh" fans, and if so get this movie for them tonight!

The irrepressible Eloise (Sofia Vassilieva) is back in another adventure. This one is in keeping with the holiday season and is titled "Eloise At Christmastime." Eloise and her nanny (Julie Andrews) are celebrating Christmas at the hotel where she lives in style.

Of course Eloise is involved in everything happening at the hotel from Christmas parties to a Christmas Eve wedding, and she puts the Eloise stamp on it all. This is what makes it so enjoyable for the entire family.

So settle down and have a holiday treat as Eloise and Nanny bring you a VHS/DVD full of fun.

For the sportsperson in your family what could be better than a 3 disc set titled "Tiger: The Authorized DVD Collection"? This is a look at Tiger Woods, the athlete and the competitor. You get commentary from him about his game and about how to compete. Plus there is a look at his life as a whole.

For golfers this is the ultimate gift, and for those who are Tiger Woods fans just because of his showmanship and charisma this is also a valid gift. Make sure it is in someone's stocking this holiday.

If you want your kids to get an early "jump" on kindergarten then you will want to expose them to the "Leapfrog" series of videos. Two in this series are out this week and they are (1) Math Circus and (2) Talking Words Factory 2: Code Word Caper."

Both of these videos utilize the Leapfrog characters to build an interest in your kids for new math and word skills. They will be fascinated by the fun that is offered and will amaze you with the math and word skills they absorb. So give them a head start on the school year by exposing them to these two educational but kid friendly videos.
