"All That Jazz And More"

Movies don't get much better than "Chicago" and they don't win many more awards either. This film racked up on accolades and critical reviews, and now it comes to video with an added attraction. It has the musical number "Class" which was excised from the film.

Catherine Zeta Jones and Queen Latifah sing this duet and give it a raw, bawdy feel. Why it was left out of the movie is unknown but putting it back in makes for an additional bonus from the DVD. But even without it, the performances of these two ladies plus Renee Zellwegger, Richard Gere and John C Reilly make this a not to be missed video collectible.

If you haven't seen "Chicago," well where have you been? Make a quick trip to your video store and get it. It is a musical of movie magic that will stand the test of time. It definitely was the Best Film of last year and maybe of the past few years as far as overall entertainment goes.

Good actors do not always guarantee a good movie. Take the case of "The Hunted." The cast consists of Benecio Del Toro, Tommy Lee Jones and Connie Neilsen. That is a triple powerhouse of talent that any film would welcome. But in this movie about a killer being hunted by the man who helped create his killer skills, everything just flopped.

This is the kind of movie where someone can be stabbed, hit on the head with a rock, fall off a cliff - and still run for three miles without getting winded. In other words it is totally unbelievable. In other words don't go to the video store hunting for "The Hunted." Hunt for "Red October" or something else.

Last week we had Amanda Bynes in the totally cute "What A Girl Wants." This week it is her main competitor Hilary Duff in "The Lizzie McGuire Movie." This film is just an extended episode of the Disney TV series and is packed full of simple jokes, the fall down type of physical humor, and songs.

Duff is a nice little comedienne and plays her role perfectly. Pre-teen and early teen age girls will love everything about the movie. And even the adults who watch with them will find it a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

In "Shooters" two friends can't give up their criminal ways. One of them is just out of prison but he didn't get rehabilitated, and the other can't stay away from drugs. It isn't that they are trying to mend their ways, they are too weak to even care. But they don't want to get caught.

Adrian Dunbar and Andrew Howard are the stars of this film that goes nowhere and shows us nothing new. It is just a crime doesn't pay film that doesn't pack enough punch into its message.

Finally we have "The Durango Kids." In this movie four kids find a hole in time where they slip into the old west. There they find that they might be on to a hidden cache of gold. But as they pursue the treasure they realize someone is trying to beat them to it. And it is their evil principal.

Your principal as your enemy, what will they think of next! This is a film for the entire family.
