"Bruce Willis Leads the Charge"

Bruce Willis hasn't had a lot of luck with his movies lately, and that's a shame. They really aren't all that bad. But then none of them are "The Sixth Sense" either. His latest film which is now out on video is "Tears of the Sun." It is an action film set in West Africa. Willis plays the hard-boiled hero and he has that role down to perfection.

Willis' co-star in the film is Monica Bellucci. She is the beauty from "The Matrix Reloaded" and is just as stunning in this movie. She and Bruce look good together and he spends the movie protecting her character. It is predictable entertainment but fun just the same.

Also fun is "Montana." Kyra Sedgwick is the star of this movie and she is a personal favorite of mine. I like that she is so unpredictable.  You never know if she is going to take the role of the good person or the bad. She can play either, equally good.

In this one she is a female assassin. While working on a job she discovers she is being framed for a murder. Unwilling to be the fall guy - or gal - she comes up with a plan of her own.

Stanley Tucci, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Tunney and John Ritter co-star with Sedgwick in the film and that is a powerful cast. They are all good and so is the movie. I had a great time with it.

I wasn't crazy about "Frida." This movie tells the story of artist Frida Kahlo and her husband Diego Rivera. They are played by Salma Hayek and Alfred Molina, who are both excellent in their roles.

There was just something about the film that tired me out. I was ready for it to end long before it did. But to be fair, I have talked with others - especially women - who loved this movie. So you might find yourself disagreeing with me and liking it.

There are two anniversary editions of good movies out on DVD now. They both are two disc sets and contain a lot of "extras." The first is "The 20th Anniversary Edition of 'The Right Stuff'." This film about the space program was first released in 1983 and was an award winner. Audiences thrilled to this story about the early days of the space program.

This 2-disc set contains three hours of extras. There are many documentaries about the space program and also commentaries about the movie. This one is real collectors' gold mine.

Also out is "Once Upon A Time In America." This film by Serge Leone has become more and more renowned as the years have passed. Robert De Niro and James Woods are the major stars of the film and give some of their best work here.

This 2 set also has a lot of extras, which give insight into the making of the movie. But the real prize is the movie itself, which has become a better movie experience by the passage of time.

For horror fans there is "They." This is a movie from the mind of horror master Wes Craven. It concerns a young woman who has suffered from nightmares. She is told they are just dreams but one day realizes the monsters of the dreams are true and are coming after her. She has to stay awake and stay out of the dark. Doesn't that sound just like another horror movie that was out on video a few weeks ago?

Still this one has a fresh set of chills and will make you have some bad dreams of your own. But isn't that what this type of movie is supposed to do?

Another chiller is "Nemesis Game." In this one a young woman, Carly Pope, is a genius at solving puzzles and riddles. But one day she realizes that her solving these puzzles seems to lead to death for others. Now the puzzle is finding out why.

Again, if this is the type of movie you like well you will like this one. Adrian Paul co-stars along with Brendan Fehr.

Finally we have "Jungle Book2" which is the sequel to the most happy original. John Goodman and Hayley Joel Osment provide the two main voices and have a rip-roaring time doing it. This is a sequel that is almost as good as the first and that says a lot.

You can also get "Rolie Polie Olie: The Baby Bot Chase" for the younger kids. They will have fun with it too.

Make sure the kids get a chance to enjoy the fun of both movies!
