"Damon Does It Better the Second Time"
In 2002 Matt Damon scored a major hit with" The Bourne Identity" based on the Robert Ludlum best seller. Now the sequel comes to DVD and it is even more explosive than the original. "The Bourne Supremacy" features a meaner, leaner Damon who explodes with power and tension.
This well made thriller also has Brian Cox and Julia Stiles in the cast as well as the brilliant Joan Allen. The entire cast works hard to make their characters believable and the story taunt. And they succeed. So get this fast-paced movie and watch in awe as the good guy does battle with the bad guys.
Also look for the deleted scenes, special features and other bonuses on the DVD package. You haven't really seen "The Bourne Supremacy" until you see it with all of these added thrills.
The good guys versus the bad guys is also the theme of "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story." In this fun filled movie Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn face off with their teams in a "dodgeball" competition. Stiller and his group are the bad guys who are trying to steal Vaughn's gym. It all comes down to the skill at the game.
Vaughn and Stiller have a blast in their roles and they make the film even funnier and fun than it should be. Plus you get the beauty and spunk of Christine Taylor (Stiller's real life wife) as well as a cameo by Rip Torn as the world's greatest dodgeball player.
On the DVD version your get the "blooper" reels, an alternate ending, and commentary from the director. These "additions" add to the enjoyment of the film and make it one you don't want to miss.
From the moviemakers of Hong Kong comes a triumphant action movie "Infernal Affairs." This film has garnered rave reviews around the world and is sure to please any viewer. It has a strong script, superior acting, and dynamic action sequences.
The film stars Tony Leung of "Hero" fame as well as Andy Lau, Anthony Wong and Eric Tsang. Together these fine actors tell the story of a policeman who goes undercover into the heart of a Triad crime group. Once there he maintains his cover and his cool until he learns there is a mole from this group in his own police organization.
The tension is high in this intricate movie and the drama is intense. It is the story of one "mole" against another and the plot twists and turns and then turns some more.
Also the DVD contains a "making of" featurette, an alternate ending, and many other bonus features. It's a more for your money deal that is sure to add to your enjoyment.
In 2003 the Peoples Republic of China submitted "Warriors Of Heaven and Earth" as their entry as Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards. The film didn't win but it was certainly a worthy contender as you can now see as the film has been released on VHS/DVD.
The film concerns two warring factions who are trying to obtain a sacred relic. This is an epic film that uses the moviemaking techniques we saw in "Crouching Tiger" and "Hero." Fans for this type of creativity are growing and this is a movie for them and for us all.
There are a lot of "Gargoyles" fans out there and they will be especially thrilled to know "Gargoyles The Complete First Season" 2 Disc DVD Collection is now available. This "event" DVD not only has the complete first season but also commentaries and a look at a Gargoyle fan convention.
Devoted fans know the basic storylines to all the "Gargoyles" adventures as they come from out of the past to stand guard over Manhattan. They are fighters of evil and protectors of the innocent.
Action fans will also want to pick up "Power Rangers DinoThunder: Collision Course and Triassic Triumph." These two volumes of "Power Ranger" adventures conclude the series of battles against the forces of Dino Zords.
There are personality changes, mutations, and a wealth of other horrendous forces that affect the Power Rangers in these stories. But they emerge victorious as Power Rangers always do. Still getting to this point is half the fun.
Gather the kids in front of the TV and let them enjoy "Walt Disney Treasures Wave 4." This DVD collection is made up of "The Mickey Mouse Club (Week One)," "Mickey Mouse In Black and White," and "The Complete Pluto."
With "The Mickey Mouse Club" your kids can see some of the programs you thrilled to as a child. You can get them singing "M-I-C-K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E" just as you always did. Then they can get to know Annette, Bobby, Cubby etc. How's that for a trip down memory lane!
