"Don't Fight the Temptation To See This Movie"

Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Beyonce' make movie magic in "The Fighting Temptations" which is available at your video store this week. In this movie he plays a man who has an inheritance, only it is tied in with a choir winning a contest. So Cuba has to learn how to make that group make beautiful music. His secret weapon is a beautiful single mother played by who else? Beyonce".

The music, the romance and the comedy all work in this easy to enjoy film. Some critics called it too simplistic when it was released on the big screen but I think on DVD is where it will find its true audience. So don't fight temptation, go right out and get "The Fighting Temptations."

With Martha Stewart's face being on the news every time you turn around, you might want to watch "Martha, Inc." This is the made for TV movie in which Cybil Shepherd had a field day as the woman American's seems to love or hate with no in between.

Of course this movie doesn't get into the trial but it does give all the background on Martha. Whether it is an accurate portrayal of her life or not, well that is for you to decide. But it does make for fascinating viewing.

Disney classics appear in the video stores and then disappear. Therefore you better grab "Alice In Wonderland" while you can. This is one of Disney's greatest animated pictures and it is sure to entertain and amaze a new generation of children with its songs and delightful characters.

They can get to know Alice, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and all the other wonderful characters who inhabit this film. So don't be "late" get on down to the video store and get a copy before they are all gone down the rabbit hole.

You might feel like you are in Wonderland when you watch "The Secret Lives of Dentists." Campbell Scott, Hope Davis and Denis Leary are all good in the film, but it is a bit weird. Scott and Davis play a husband and wife who are both dentists. One day the husband sees something that makes him think his wife is having an affair.

As his jealousy builds his evil side emerges in the form of one of his patients (Leary). Now he is being goaded into taking action of some kind. Like I said - weird. But still interesting and the actors are solid.

If you have been wondering whatever happened to Mark Hamil, who played "Luke Skywalker" in "Star Wars," well he is alive and well. As a matter of fact you can catch him in the new film "Comic Book: The Movie" which is at your video store this week. Hamil not only stars in this film, he directed it.

The movie is a "tongue in cheek" look at the goings on of comic book conventions. We get to see the fans and their eternal battle with Hollywood studios to keep their favorites pure. They revere the comic books and don't want them to be junked up for the movies.

This is a funny movie that makes its point for the comic book fans of the world. And it gives us a chance to see Mark Hamil one more time. Now whatever happened to Carrie Fisher?

Stacy Dash, Monica Calhoun and Lil Kim are just some of the stars of the new DVD release "Gang of Roses." This film is a rip-roaring story about a gang of women who rob banks and then retire. But the kidnapping of the sister of one of the Rose gang's members brings them back out.

These gals have sass and style and make the old west fun. Also look for Bobby Brown. He's in there too. But alas no Whitney.

Finally there is "Rubber Dubbers," a movie about bathtub creatures that your kids will love. Hunt the video down for them and give them a real surprise.
