"Jason Statham Transports Us To Adventureland"

Jason Statham is the action hero of the new video "The Transporter." In this movie he raises the adrenaline with one hair breath escape from danger after another. Particularly good is a car chase sequence at the start of the film. It is as good as those in "Bullitt" and "The French Connection."

In the film Statham plays a man who transports goods, legal or otherwise, for a fee. He is very good at his job. But one day he opens his trunk to examine a package he is carrying. He has been told not to do this. Inside he finds a girl who he takes home with him. Then his troubles begin.

If you like movies that are loose on plot but long on action then "The Transporter" is the movie for you. It races along from one action sequence to the next.

Not as action packed but better story-wise is "Rabbit Proof Fence." This film tells the story of three Aboriginal girls who are taken away from their mother and placed in a camp. This was legal in Australia back in the 1930's and this film is based on a true story.

Kenneth Branagh plays the man in charge of enforcing the law and the one who leads the hunt for the girls. He is a determined sort who won't give up. But then so are the girls who are determined to walk all the way home to find their mother.

"Invincible" is a movie starring the villain of "Titanic" Billy Zane. He plays a mystical man who trains a group of people how to fight evil. The action sequences are the only reason to see the film and even they aren't that great. "Invincible" is vulnerable to bad reviews. Hey Billy, been on any ocean cruises lately?

Keifer Sutherland is getting all the attention in the Sutherland family lately. His series "24" is a big hit. But daddy Donald does have a new video out this week. It is called "Big Shot's Funeral" and the bad news is Sutherland plays the man whose funeral it is.

Paul Mazursky, Ge You and Rosamund Kwan co-star in this comedy about putting on the biggest show funeral ever. The laughs are there, you just have to search for them.

For horror fans we have "Cube 2: Hypercube." This one is more of the same. Like the first one it concerns people who wake up in a cube. They come to realize that trying to get out can kill them. Kari Matchett is the star of this video. If I am not mistaken this movie was shown on the Sci Fi Channel recently.

For the kids we have "Angelina Ballerina: Lucky Penny." This video has four short movies on it and they all feature the dancing mouse. They also feature two live shows, which highlight the dance talent at the Royal Academy of Dance in London.

Little girls especially love this charming mouse and all of her stories have good moral tales to them. You can't beat that.

Finally there are three videos out that are titled "Kiki's Delivery Service," "Castle In the Sky," and "Spirited Away." The last was named Best Animated Film at the Academy Award Show this year. It surprised everyone by beating "Ice Age" and "Lilo and Stitch."

All three of these movies are "anime animation" and they all feature big name vocal talent. If you have never seen an anime film, pick out one of these. If you have seen anime before then just take "Spirited Away" which is one of the most beautiful films you will ever want to see.
