"Rob Schneider Makes One Ugly Chick"

Rob Schneider has gone from being the second banana to such comedians as Adam Sandler and Kelsey Grammer to being the main star of such films as "Deuce Bigelow" and "The Animal." His new film is titled "The Hot Chick" and it gives Schneider a chance to show his comic skills again.

In this film, now out on video, Schneider plays a girl who finds her mind is stuck in the body of a crude male. Her friends have a hard time accepting that this male looking male is actually their friend with a new body.

There are a lot of funny situations that could have been found here, but this film spends most of its time sticking to the crudest elements of the story. If there is an off color joke or a risqué' scene which can be found, the moviemakers find it.

"The Hot Chick" had the potential to be a comic gold mine, but instead Schneider and company struck crude oil. With the emphasis on crude.

"Extreme Ops" is a video that goes for the adrenaline rush that inventive action sequences can bring. The film is all about some daredevil people who are making a movie. They film in the Austrian Alps and are having a great time until they find a killer in the hotel with them. Since they are in an isolated area they have to try to escape by doing some of the stunts they have been filming.

The plot in this movie is by the book but the action shots are great. Devon Sawa, Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, and Richard Davi are the stars. They are hired just to get the scenes from one action sequence to the next.

Gina Gershon is one of the sexiest women in Hollywood. She made a name for herself in the sleeper hit "Bound." Now she is playing a psychiatrist suspected of murder in the video "Borderline." In this film her ex-husband has been murdered and she has come under suspicion. But it is probably the work of one of her patients

Michael Biehn and Sean Patrick Flanery co-star in this exciting and suspenseful film. These two men do great work but it is Gershon who is the draw from start to finish.

Christine Lahti is the star of "The Pilot's Wife." In this film she plays a woman whose husband is a pilot. When he dies unexpectedly she is surprised to learn that he had a hidden life.

Campbell Scott plays one of the insurance investigators and John Heard is seen as her husband. The story is based on a book by noted author Anita Shreve. Lahti gives the film its heart and its focus.

Shannon Tweed is a former "Playboy Playmate" and she used that notoriety to build herself a movie career. Her latest video is "Naked Lies" and in it she plays an undercover agent in Mexico. She is trying to trap a drug lord.

This is a sexy, suspenseful thriller, Steven Bauer is her co-star and he is as rugged as she is sexy.

At the other end of the spectrum of videos is "The Way Home," an Oscar nominee for best foreign film. This Korean movie tells the story of a seven-year-old boy who is sent to live with his grandmother on a farm. He is not used to the rural life and is at first resentful of his circumstances. Eventually he comes to see the worthiness of it all.

This is a movie of depth and entertainment. If you like foreign movies then this is one not to miss.

Finally we have "Wiggle Bay" for the kids. The popular Australian group "The Wiggles" star in this movie about a day at the beach. There they are joined in their adventures by a mermaid. This causes them to burst into song over and over again
