Reese Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama
|
"Reese Is A True Blue Southern Girl"
Reese Witherspoon comes across as a true blue daughter of the South in her latest film "Sweet
Home Alabama." This movie did a ton of business when it was released to the big screen and it is going to do even more now that it is out on video/DVD,
The movie concerns Reese trying to choose between Patrick Dempsey and Josh Lucas If you have seen the movie you know which one she chose. But if you watch the DVD you get to have an alternate ending. Now how's that for something new!
Everything about this movie is fun and romantic and here in the Valentine Day season it is one that will appeal to a lot of people. Make sure you grab your copy before it gets away.
Another romantic movie is "Brown Sugar" which stars Taye Diggs and Saana Latham. These two play best friends who take forever to know they are right for each other. Everyone else in the movie knows it but these two are stubborn, headstrong individuals who just don't get the hint when Cupid draws back his bow.
Diggs and Latham look great together but so does Nicole Ari Parker. She plays the woman Diggs' character marries and then regrets it. Dumb guy, Parker is not a woman to have regrets over in any way. She is fine.
This is another good movie full of romance and love. Rent it for the one you love to watch with you.
Robin Williams was robbed when the Oscar nominations were announced. He did one of his best acting jobs ever in the film "One Hour Photo" which has now come to video. In this film he plays a man named Sy who is lonely. He has no family and he lives vicariously through his customer's lives.
One such family becomes an obsession with him. He projects himself into their lives so much that he comes to consider himself Uncle Sy to the little boy in the family. When his fantasies get out of control it leads to tragedy and Sy, the photo man, becomes Sy, the stalker.
Williams has never been this good in a movie. He controls all of his ticks and quirks and creates a new character who is nothing like Robin Williams. It is a brilliant portrayal and one you should see. So get "One Hour Photo" and see just how brilliant Robin Williams really is.
Madonna is not brilliant in "Swept Away" but she isn't as bad as you have heard. She and Adriano Gianinni manage to keep the story of two people castaway on a deserted island going. She is pretty good at being the spoiled, snobby princess of the story, and he is adequate as the man who wins her over.
Adriano is the son of Giancarlo Gianinni who played this role in the original film by Lina Wertmueller. It looks like the romantic Italian genes came through. And he manages to be able to act like he is in love with Madonna even under the watchful eye of her hubby who is director Guy Ritchie.
Madonna's movie looks like a masterpiece next to Steven Soderberg's fiasco "Full Frontal." This movie stars Julia Roberts, David Duchovny, Blair Underwood and Catherine Keener among others. They are all talented people but this movie is a mess.
It has something to do with a movie within a movie and all the people have dual roles in the inner movie and in this movie. But you know what? You won't care because this is such a waste of time and talent you will turn it off about half way through it all.
"Asunder" is a movie about revenge. Blair Underwood plays a man who has lost everything. He has no love, no family, no hope for the future. His best friend (Michael Beach) brings him into his home to try to help him but that is a big mistake. You see Blair blames Beach for all that has gone wrong in his life.
Debbi Morgan plays Breach's wife and an old flame of Blair's. You see how things can get complicated and they do. Watch the video and see how complex life and love can get when one man leads another's wife asunder.
Finally there is "Daredevil vs Spider-Man." In this animated movie not only are Daredevil and Spider Man battling Kingpin, but their alter egos Matt Murdock and Peter Parker are also going at it. It's a comic book come to life and kids and adults will love it. |
